Remember Afghanistan
Two years ago, veterans from all branches and services, active and retired, and caring civilians, all joined in a highly decentralized effort to rescue our Afghan Partners. This network of committed volunteers has remained loyal to our At-Risk Afghan Partners (AtRAPs) despite the lack of U.S. Government assistance. At times, it seems our government's policymakers are working against us, while some within the system remain committed with us in this effort; so we persevere. 30 August 2021, America's last day in Afghanistan will go down in history as one of our nation's greatest betrayals. Some will say we were there too long, but it's interesting that we still maintain forces in places like Germany, Italy, Japan, the Philippines, Korea, etc.... The betrayal of our Afghan Partners still sits like a huge stone on the shoulders of everyone who has ever had a stake in Afghanistan. There isn't a day I am not dealing with this crisis as it continues to unfold after two long years. We at the GBNT Group remain committed to this effort. We understand this is a marathon, not a sprint, and that we need to not lose faith that each of our AtRAPs, if we stand by them, will eventually be rescued. As it says in Galatians 6:9, "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." If you are involved in this effort, DON'T GIVE UP! Although it seems to take forever, we see the fruits of the harvest when a new family arrives to the U.S., safe, secure, and knowing we didn't forget them.
